ABOUT MOLLY KUETHER-STEELE

My experience working for the City of Milwaukee for nearly 16 years has equipped me with skills and insights that are highly relevant to serving on the school board.

I currently serve as the Staffing Services Manager for the Fire and Police Commission, and I have held various roles in human resources, staffing, and program management. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with hiring processes, public safety services, and community engagement, and this experience will inform my approach on school staffing, safety, and student services. I am also deeply involved in the Milwaukee community as a resident, taxpayer, and city employee.

One of my main reasons for running for the Milwaukee Public School (MPS) Board is my dedication to ensuring a high-quality education for all children. My child, who is neurodivergent and just starting his educational journey in kindergarten with MPS, is a reminder of the importance of a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

As a parent, I want to ensure my son and all students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. I understand both the operational side of a large public institution and the personal side of being a parent who wants success for their child. And as an MPS alumnus who had a positive experience growing up in the district, I’m committed to continuing high-quality education for current and future generations.

Education is also a family legacy for me. My mother was an MPS teacher, and I have seen how dedicated educators can make a lasting impact on students. This has strengthened my commitment to preserving and enhancing the district’s educational standards. My experience gives me a unique perspective on how education, public services, and local government intersect to shape our community.
